4 reasons why renovating your home is easy with CHE

ideas brain icon

Renovation specialists

Renovations are rarely straightforward. You’re working with an existing home, hidden conditions, and layouts that don’t always behave the way you expect.

With over 200 completed projects and 70+ years of combined experience, we know how to improve existing homes without turning the process into a stressful experience.

We focus on taking what you already have and making it work better for how you actually live day to day.

Clear planning

Most renovation projects start with ideas that feel unclear or overwhelming. There are often multiple layout options and competing decisions to work through.

We turn that into a clear, structured plan so you understand what’s possible, what each decision means, and how it all comes together before any work begins.

Fixed pricing

We work through a detailed scope and pricing process before construction starts so you know what your renovation will cost upfront. This removes guesswork and helps you move forward with confidence.

Managed disruption

Renovations often mean living in and around the work, which can be disruptive if it’s not carefully planned. We sequence and manage the build to minimise disruption where possible and keep things as manageable as we can for your household.

You’re kept updated at key stages through our project management platform, with weekly updates every Monday so you always know what’s happening without needing to chase it.

Bright, beautiful kitchens

The majority of the full house renovations that our team complete involve the kitchen, which is an area that dates quickly and typically requires a full or partial remodel every 10 to 15 years (depending on how clever you are with your choices & design).

Choosing to invest in your kitchen as part of your full house renovation or partial remodel is a decision that you won’t regret. This is an area that is the heart of your home, where you spend quality family time after busy days at work and school and where you entertain family and friends on the weekend. Having an open plan area that you can be proud of and enjoy spending time in, plus has all of the storage you need for appliances, has massive benefits not only for your lifestyle but also your personal wellbeing. You want to be able to chat to your kids or your friends while you’re cooking, not tucked away in a dark cluttered corner, elbow to elbow with your partner as you rush to get dinner on the table!

Here at Certified Home Extensions, we always use and recommend a custom built kitchen for your house renovation or remodel, as opposed to a flatpack. While flatplacks are lower cost, this is definitely reflected in the quality, longevity and ease of installation. We want your completed remodel to include a stunning kitchen, where every aspect is functional, that will be the envy of your family and friends! & this is also what we strive to achieve with every full house renovation or remodel that we complete.
kitchen renovation

As part of this renovation, we re-located the kitchen from one side of the room to the other. This not only improved indoor-outdoor flow, but the overall layout of the house as well, making it feel more open, welcoming and spacious.

master suite

The original plan for David & Philippa’s bungalow in Mt Albert was to complete a second level addition to give them a master suite and small living area. Unfortunately they were unable to do this because of planning rules, so instead we did a full bungalow renovation, which gave them the master suite of their dreams (featured), as well as a modern kitchen, large living area and luxurious bathroom.

Bungalow & villa renovations

If you’re lucky enough to own a bungalow or villa in Auckland, we’re jealous! Our team doesn’t play favourites, but if we did, these would be some of the coolest full house renovations and/or remodels that we have completed, because of their historic, character filled charm.

Bungalow & Villa renovations are tricky, and you definitely need somebody with expertise to help you ensure that the original character of your home is preserved, while we add modern features and functionality to the inside. Under the expertise of Certified Home Extensions, a bungalow or villa renovation is easy. We’ll use our experience to offer you valuable insights into little touches that can be incorporated to respect the era of your home, offer you a fixed price to make certain there are no nasty surprises and provide the necessary craftsmanship (standard building skills won’t cut it) to make sure that the end result of your bungalow or villa renovation will last for the next 100 years.

Maximising internal space

21st century homes are all about bright, open plan space that are perfect for housing the family, proving a place for all of the clutter that accumulates and entertaining extended family and friends. If you live in an older property you’ll know that this was not something that was a key focus in mid-century, or earlier homes and that’s where a full house remodel comes in.

Instead of the open plan living area of your dreams, you might have many small, dark, cluttered areas within the existing floor plan of your home, that leave you scratching your head, knowing that the space could be better utilised, but not sure how to go about it. Based on our experience, the careful removal of a wall (or three) as part of a bigger full house renovation or remodel can make a massive difference to the feel of your home.

Knowing how to maximise the space within your home is tricky, especially if you’ve been looking at the walls for years wondering what the possibilities are. Before you lift a hammer, and start making plans to remove walls, you should take advantage of a free, no obligations consultation with somebody like ourselves. We looked at hundreds if not thousands of houses in the last thirty years so can give you some great advice that will help you to visualise what your home will look like, once your full house remodel has been completed.
kitchen renovations

This kitchen renovation which we completed for the Richards family in East Auckland involved the removal of three walls to create a large open plan space that was perfect for entertaining. We also updated the aesthetic and added some large doors for indoor-outdoor flow - now they are throwing dinner parties with pride every weekend!
