How We Work With You

We realise that everyone is different, and everyone has different needs with their project. That's why we've developed our 8 step building process to get as much detail as possible from you, before providing you with our expert advice and proposed solutions.

1. INITIAL CONTACT

This is the initial contact where we get to become friends. During this phone call we’ll ask you a few detailed questions to get a better understanding of your project, and so we can provide you with the best advice and are up to speed when we first meet.

If we can help you, we will then schedule in a time to meet with you in person to discuss your idea’s and bring it closer to reality.

2. PERSONAL CONSULTATION

We will come out to your home to give you your unique 2 hour consultation about your dreams.

Our aim here is to fully understand your your reason for wanting to extend or renovate, the resources you have available, the timeline you’d like to meet and so fourth.

During this meeting we encourage you to bring any ideas, house plans, section information and other relevant documents.

If you don’t have concept plans, we can introduce you to a number of leading architects that we work closely with.

If you already have plans, jump straight to step 5

3. DESIGN CONSULTATION

We will organise to meet with you again, but this time we will bring along our specially chosen architect who is well suited for your project.

With their extensive architectural experience, they will further add on to any ideas previously discussed and more and will be able to quickly identify challenges on site that council may pick us up on. By identifying these challenges early we can better prepare ourselves later down the track during council consents stage.

4. DESIGN PLANS AND COUNCIL CONSENT

Once we return to the office, an estimate to design concepts and full working drawings is compiled and sent to you. If all is agreed on and signed, designing will take place.

Along the way CHE will handle all your consents and queries from council, we understand dealing with council can be a nightmare so we would rather have you kick your feet up and relax.

When we have the final plans we will pay you another visit.

5. PLAN OF ACTION

Now that we have final drawings in our hands , the exciting part begins. We will compile an investment project sum to make your dreams become a reality.

We will arrange for all our sub contractors to visit your home. This ensures accuracy with prices simply because being on site to inspect the affected area is better than reading off the plans.

Once completed, we will compile all this information into an easy to read 24 page “Action Plan”.

The level of high detail in this Action Plan allows you to know exactly what is going into your home before it even begins, from what will go onto your roof to the type of door handles you will have.

As always, we want to ensure our client’s are confident before proceeding.

6. HITTNG THE “GO” BUTTON!

As this stage is so crucial, we will love to sit down and present the Action Plan with you.

Together will will go through all the fine details so you understand exactly what is going on. We know you will have many questions so we will be well prepared to answer them all, so ask away!

If all is well we will prepare a building agreement for both parties to sign off and we’re off!

We will provide a time schedule of the project so you know when they project will start and most importantly when things will happen to better prepare yourself if shifting furniture or temporarily moving out is required.

7. YOUR DREAM HOME BEGINS!

During your project we will hold regular meetings and provide you with written progress reports, copies of all building inspections and photos of each stage.

You are always welcome to ring us, and organise an extra meeting at any time.

8. LIVE YOUR DREAM

Finally your extension dream has become a reality, all of the payments have been made and the keys handed over to you.

Now you can live your dream in your Certified Home Extensions home. You will also receive:

– A full commercial clean of your home prior to moving in

Weekly Client Report

It’s a Friday, you want to get home from work and relax with your family. But you can’t do that just yet, you need to chase your builder for updates on your project! With our Client Report you’ll be kept in the loop on a weekly basis, be made aware of potential hazards around your house, what has been done this week, what is happening next week and when you should start looking for bathroom fittings. Best of all you won’t need to chase us around, we’ll do that for you instead!

Alvin has been working on Alterations for over 19 years and in that time he has approached just about every problem that could arise. In doing so he has recorded what it took to rectify the problem which developed into what is a comprehensive 266 point check list which he teaches all his hand picked tradesmen to abide by.


Action Plan

Other builders will give you a 1-2 page quote, and that’s all. Here at Certified Home Extensions, we will present you with a 32-page Action Plan that details exactly what will go into your home from large items such as constructing a room to the smallest details such as choosing your door hardware. This ensures that both parties go into an agreement with confidence!

Project Scheduling Software

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to check in on the progress of your project without having to pick up the phone? Our project scheduling software does exactly that and more. As our client, you will have your own login for the duration of your project life with full access to your project schedule and be able to view any changes we make live. E.g. Installing the roof has been delayed until tomorrow since there is too much rain and wind. Again, this keeps you in the loop at all times.
